{"id":37615,"date":"2023-04-19T10:58:06","date_gmt":"2023-04-19T10:58:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carandini.com\/?p=37615"},"modified":"2023-10-31T10:51:18","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T10:51:18","slug":"veka-spin-century-receive-dark-sky-certification","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carandini.com\/en\/veka-spin-century-receive-dark-sky-certification\/","title":{"rendered":"VEKA family, SPIN and CENTURY receive DARK SKY certification"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row css_animation=&#8221;&#8221; row_type=&#8221;row&#8221; use_row_as_full_screen_section=&#8221;no&#8221; type=&#8221;full_width&#8221; angled_section=&#8221;no&#8221; text_align=&#8221;left&#8221; background_image_as_pattern=&#8221;without_pattern&#8221;][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]We are pleased to announce that<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/carandini.com\/en\/veka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> VEKA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/carandini.com\/en\/spin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SPIN<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carandini.com\/en\/century\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CENTURY<\/a> have achieved the prestigious IDA certification<\/strong>, awarded by the non-profit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darksky.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">International Dark Sky Association<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This recognition <strong>certifies that these solutions meet all the requirements set in relation to the preservation and protection of dark sky as well as the reduction of light pollution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To receive this certification, all of the following criteria shall be met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maximum correlated colour temperature of 3000K<\/li>\n<li>Photometric files are needed to validate performance characteristics<\/li>\n<li>There is an uplight allowance of 0.5% of total output or 50 lumens; whichever is lower, with no more than 10 lumens in 90-100 degree UL zone. Allowable uplight as a byproduct of the structure and not the source<\/li>\n<li>Street and area lights must have a pre or post-installation shielding option<\/li>\n<li>Luminaires are required to have fixed mounts to ensure they are mounted as photometered. There can be up to + or- 10-degree adjustment for levelling if needed<\/li>\n<li>Luminaires must have dimming capability to 10% of full rating<\/li>\n<li>Luminaires must have Safety Certification by an independent laboratory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nPROTECT DARK SKIES FOR PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the world, <strong>more than 80% of the world&#8217;s population lives under skies polluted by lighting<\/strong>. This percentage rises to 99% in the case of the United States and Europe, a truly worrying situation against which the International Dark Sky Association (IDA) has been fighting since 1988.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this organisation is to <strong>make communities aware of the importance of preserving, protecting and creating dark places safe from light pollution<\/strong> all over the world.<\/p>\n<p>At Carandini we work to provide <strong>environmentally friendly lighting<\/strong>.
