[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern”][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””]The project “Renovation and Improvement of Energy Efficiency in Public Lighting in Cazalla de la Sierra,” carried out by Carandini in collaboration with the installer Citelum, has been awarded the prize for the best road\/environmental lighting<\/strong> in the I Lighting Awards<\/a> organized by the Urban Solutions Symposium 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These awards are open to the participation of all municipalities, territorial entities, and private initiatives throughout Spain, and they were established “due to the importance of these infrastructures in a city, as their efficiency directly impacts the quality of life of its residents by reducing crime in public spaces, traffic accidents, the distinction of its heritage, and overall facilitating the liveability of the cities,” explains Roberto Carlos Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez, director of the Urban Solutions symposium and jury member.<\/p>\n

CAZALLA DE LA SIERRA<\/strong><\/p>\n

The comprehensive lighting renovation project in Cazalla de la Sierra<\/a> involved replacing more than 1,200 light points<\/strong> with Clamod<\/a>, Mikos<\/a> and Veka<\/a> LED luminaires with a color temperature of 2700K and CRI >80<\/strong>. This warm temperature was chosen to protect biodiversity and the storks that inhabit the town, as well as to preserve the environment<\/strong>.
\nCazalla de la Sierra is located in the Sierra Morena Natural Park in Seville, declared a Biosphere Reserve since 2022<\/strong>, as well as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) and a Starlight Reserve<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With the new lighting, installed power has been reduced by 60%, resulting in an energy savings of over 50%<\/strong>. Additionally, it has improved the visual comfort of the citizens, eliminated light pollution, and reduced CO2 emissions by 52.83 tons per year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A DIFFICULT DECISION<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We had a long deliberation due to the great diversity and quality of the projects submitted<\/strong>, but in the end, we reached a decision, giving special consideration to design, light levels, compliance with regulations, technology used in control, concern for light pollution, use of dynamic systems, the challenge in the execution of the work, levels of energy efficiency, and reduction in electrical consumption, as well as integrated applications with renewable energy,” noted Roberto Carlos Gonz\u00e1lez Fern\u00e1ndez.<\/p>\n
