Carandini expands its industrial product range with three new ATEX-certified solutions for Zones 1/21 and 2/22

Carandini has expanded its industrial portfolio with ResistEX, StormEX, and TitanEX, three new lighting solutions certified according to ATEX (European) and IECEx (International) directives, specifically designed to operate in potentially explosive atmospheres. These luminaires combine robust construction, exceptional durability, and high luminous performance, ensuring maximum safety and reliability in demanding industrial environments.

WHAT PROTECTION DO CARANDINI’S ATEX LUMINAIRES OFFER?

Our ATEX luminaires are designed and certified to operate safely in classified Zones 1/21 and 2/22. These zones have a potentially explosive atmosphere either occasionally (Zones 1/21) or infrequently and for short durations (Zones 2/22), due to the presence of flammable gases, vapours, or dust. Thanks to their design and the rigorous quality controls they undergo, they prevent the generation of sparks and overheating, thus avoiding ignition risks.

In industrial environments with explosion hazards—such as refineries, chemical industries, oil platforms or food production facilities—certified lighting systems are not only essential but also mandatory to ensure safety.

THREE DISTINCT SOLUTIONS, ONE SHARED GOAL: SAFETY IN ATEX ENVIRONMENTS 

Each industrial zone has specific needs that require tailored solutions. That’s why Carandini has developed three new ATEX-certified luminaires in high bay, linear, and floodlight formats. Three distinct solutions with one common priority: maintaining a safe environment.

These luminaires stand out for their great versatility and adaptability to the needs of each project, thanks to the availability of various mounting systems. They feature symmetrical optics to ensure uniform light distribution and achieve luminous efficiency of up to 140 lm/W.

All models have an IP66 protection rating, meaning they are completely sealed against dust and capable of withstanding high-pressure water jets from any direction—such as heavy rain or hose cleaning—making them ideal for industrial, outdoor, and other applications exposed to harsh environmental conditions.

ResistEX: A high bay luminaire made of die-cast aluminium with a luminous flux of 14,000lm and a power of 100W. Known for its high resistance and a long lifetime of up to 150,000 hours (L70) at an ambient temperature of 55 °C. It operates from -40ºC to +55ºC and features IP66/IK08 protection (optional IK10 with protective grid).

StormEX: A waterproof luminaire made of reinforced polycarbonate, available in two sizes: model “S” with 2,060lm and 20W, and model “M” with 4,400lm and 40W. Includes an optional 3-hour permanent emergency mode and can withstand temperatures up to 60 °C. It offers three mounting options: ceiling-mounted, suspended with cable, or pole-mounted, with an optical distribution of up to 120º. Features IP66 and IK10 ratings and is characterized by an easy and quick mounting system using a triangular key, with a hinged cover for safe internal access.

TitanEX: A durable floodlight with a luminous flux of 21,000lm and a power of 150W. With 11 mounting options and accessories, it offers great versatility for installation on any type of surface. Made of die-cast aluminium, it’s a flexible solution that adapts to all types of industrial environments. IP66 and IK08 protection (optional IK10 with protective grid).

These three new ATEX solutions are now part of Carandini’s catalogue and join the existing PEX luminaire, offering a complete range for high-risk explosive zones.

PEX is a waterproof, safe, and certified luminaire for Zone 2/22, made of injected polycarbonate and designed for maximum resistance and reliability. It features IP66 and IK10 ratings and is available in three sizes, with a luminous flux range from 2,800lm (23 W) to 7,000lm (55W). It also includes an emergency system option with 3-hour autonomy, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments where safety is a top priority.
