09 May Carandini participates in XLIX National LIghting Symposium
From the 10th to 12th May, the XLIX National Lighting Symposium will take place in Huesca. This record-breaking edition will feature almost 90 presentations and the presence of over 300 attendees from the most important companies in the lighting industry in our country.
The objective of the event is to analyse and discuss the trends and challenges of the industry based on innovation, research, and sustainability in public lighting, pillars upon which one of the most important challenges of our society rests: energy efficiency.
As every year, Carandini will be one of the attending companies. On this occasion, we will participate in 3 presentations: one based on recyclability and circular economy in lighting devices, another on adaptive LED lighting in urban tunnels, and a final one in which we will explain the Urban-Centric-Lighting project focused on innovation to improve the health and well-being of people and biodiversity in public spaces. We will also be part of the round table on Smart Cities.
RECYCLABILITY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY
On Wednesday, 10 May at 5pm, Pilar Vázquez from the Ecolum Foundation, and Xavi Travería, our technical director & R&D, will give a presentation on the importance of maintenance, updating, and reuse of LED luminaires. They will take the opportunity to present the new “Recyclability Index”, which measures the recyclability of new lighting devices launched on the market to facilitate material recovery, identify those that are less eco-friendly for the environment, and advance towards eco-design and circular economy.
ADAPTIVE LED LIGHTING IN URBAN TUNNELS
Together with Roberto Martinez from the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, Xavi Travería will explain the success case of the Vila Olímpica Tunnel in Barcelona. How its lighting and control system work and the first exploitation conclusions. A technical talk for those interested in knowing how to correctly and efficiently light and control a tunnel or underground installation. The appointment will take place on Thursday, May 12th at 5:15pm.
Urban-Centric Lighting: collaborative innovation in urban lighting
Urban-Centric Lighting is a collaborative working group energised by the CICAT cluster that aims to provide solutions to current problems such as light pollution using new technologies. Carandini is one of the companies in this working group.
Together with the other participants, Xavi Travería will explain to the Symposium attendees what the new intelligent and autonomous lighting installed in “Parc del Molinet” has consisted of. A project with presence sensors that control the intensity and colour of light to provide security to people and, at the same time, protect the biological cycle of species and reduce light pollution.
SMART CITY ROUNDTABLE
On the last day of the conference, Friday, May 12th, you can find us at the roundtable on Smart Cities, which will take place at the Carlos Saura Auditorium in the Huesca Congress Palace. Our technical director, along with representatives from other companies in the industry, will discuss the process and possible solutions to define a smart city.
