Once again, we are taking part in the 51st edition of the Spanish National Lighting Symposium

Once again, we are taking part in the 51st edition of the Spanish National Lighting Symposium

The city of Logroño will host the 51st edition of the Spanish National Lighting Symposium from May 21 to 23, an event organized by the Spanish Lighting Committee that will bring together around 400 professionals from the sector. During the event, the latest innovations in public lighting, real-life cases of lighting in various cities and spaces, as well as the close relationship between light, health, and well-being, will be discussed, among other topics of interest. As every year,

Carandini will be present as a sponsoring company and will be responsible for delivering two of the more than 70 planned presentations at the event.

PRESENTATION 1: LIGHTING CHANGE IN THE BORRÀS TUNNEL – RONDA DE DALT IN BARCELONA

Xavi Traveria from Carandini and Roberto Martínez from the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona  will lead this presentation focused on the LED renovation of the Borràs tunnel  in Barcelona, a project that Carandini originally illuminated 30 years ago.

The presentation details the execution of the project and the solutions adopted to overcome its main challenges. In the Borràs tunnel, with partially open sections and up to five lanes in some areas, it was necessary to balance the height restrictions with the need for optimal light uniformity, especially in areas with natural light and at the entrances to adjacent roads.

The conference will take place next Thursday, May 22 at 10:00 AM in the Multi-purpose Hall of the Logroño City Hall.

PRESENTATION 2: THE IMPORTANCE OF TESTING AND CERTIFICATIONS IN PUBLIC LIGHTING

Testing and certifications are essential to guarantee quality, efficiency, and safety in public lighting. In this presentation, Marc Ballbè, director of the Asselum laboratory, and Xavi Traveria will discuss how the combination of testing, certifications, and blockchain technology can transform the sector, bringing greater transparency, traceability, and reliability throughout the lifecycle of luminaires. They will explain how the use of blockchain allows for the secure and immutable registration, verification, and automation of these processes and how this synergy facilitates more agile audits, predictive maintenance, and the promotion of more sustainable projects, which are key to the development of smart cities.

Don’t miss this interesting talk next Thursday, May 22 at 6:15 PM in the Main Hall of the Logroño City Hall.

Last year, one of our talks was considered by the attendees as one of the most interesting of the event, so we are confident that this year we will surprise you again. We look forward to seeing you, don’t miss it!
