Ondulados Carme is a company with more than 60 years of experience in the corrugated cardboard sector, specializing in the manufacture of sheets and packaging solutions. In this context, it has recently carried out a comprehensive upgrade of its lighting system to LED technology, with the aim of improving energy efficiency, visual comfort and working conditions in both the indoor and outdoor areas of the plant.
IMPROVED VISIBILITY FOR PRECISION WORK
For this project, the company relied on Carandini’s industrial solutions. Indoors, 136 HBL high-bay luminaires in size M were installed, manufactured in die-cast aluminum with low copper content to ensure long durability, equipped with a DALI control system and offering an efficiency of 150 lm/W. All luminaires feature a color temperature of 4000 K and a CRI >80, ensuring excellent uniformity in the production areas where precision work is carried out.
For the façade and outdoor areas, the Mikos floodlight was selected, available in sizes S and M and equipped with DALI control, allowing the lighting solution to be adapted to the different needs of the environment. Made of die-cast aluminum with low copper content, Mikos offers long durability and high efficiency of up to 163 lm/W, ensuring, like HBL, low energy consumption and a fast return on investment.
REDUCED MAINTENANCE COSTS
As in many production halls, dust tends to accumulate over time, which can reduce lighting quality. However, Carandini’s industrial luminaires prevent the accumulation of dust and water, reducing the need for cleaning, while their robust design and the long lifetime of the LEDs ensure that maintenance operations and associated costs remain low for many years.
ENERGY SAVINGS OF OVER 70%
The lighting renovation has successfully met the established objectives. It has significantly improved worker well-being and safety through precise, uniform and glare-free lighting, which enhances visual comfort and reduces fatigue. At the same time, the high energy efficiency of the luminaires has enabled energy savings of approximately 50%, which can be increased by an additional 15 to 20% thanks to the control system, ensuring a rapid return on investment.

The HBL GEN2 luminaire by Carandini is designed to provide an effective solution for industrial areas or sports facilities that require efficient and uniform lighting.
