On the occasion of the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco, the city of Rabat decided to upgrade its facilities, enhancing security and preparing the city for the arrival of clubs and fans.

Among the actions taken, the surroundings of the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex were modernized, with the construction of a new, greener, and more elegant urban area designed to improve the aesthetics of the area and promote a healthier lifestyle for visitors and residents.

This initiative required highly efficient new lighting to illuminate streets and avenues with a pleasant colour temperature for the well-being of residents. To achieve this, Lamalif, our partner in Morocco, relied on Carandini and its Veka and Athlos solutions. For the streets and avenues, VEKA street lights were installed in two different sizes, S and M, depending on the needs. In higher areas, such as the sports complex parking lot, which required lighter, the two-module ATHLOS projector was chosen, designed to provide uniform illumination from great heights. In total, nearly 600 LED lighting solutions with a colour temperature of 3000K were installed.

The new urban and lighting project carried out in Rabat has improved the city’s infrastructure, modernized its urban space and allowed the city to be showcased to the world. Additionally, it has enhanced security and increased the quality of life for the people.
