Carandini has participated, together with Idom engineering, in the lighting of the new Abi Bakr Al-Siddiq high-capacity urban road, located in the centre of Riyadh, in Saudi Arabia.

THE DESERT AS AN ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENT

This new 12km-long construction was designed with the aim of decongesting the city’s northbound and southbound traffic.

It is characterised by a futuristic design with elements introduced from the area, such as the “dune” concept, which is intended to simulate the effect of the desert dunes that are so prevalent in this part of the planet.

To integrate the product into the environment, the client chose 2200K, a warm colour temperature that simulates the color of the desert.

EXTREME ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 

Carandini was commissioned to supply the lower floodlights. The product chosen was T-MAX luminaire, characterised by high robustness, excellent durability and a practical modular design.

It has a high energy efficiency, low consumption and a recyclability rate of more than 97%. In addition, it is a luminaire prepared to work and last for decades in the most extreme environmental conditions, such as the high temperatures of more than 50º that we can find in Middle East.

Another of its advantages is its easy maintenance (high pressure cleaning) and the flexibility it offers during assembly.
