The city of Tom Price, in north-west of Western Australia, needed to upgrade the old lighting system at the OVAL SPORTS CENTRE, located adjacent to the North Tom Price Primary School for the purpose of cricket and AFL.
They required a new solution that would ensure a comfortable sporting experience without shadows, direct and indirect glare or distractions. In addition, it had to be efficient, reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs, and maximise return on investment.
To achieve all these objectives, a preliminary study of playing field was carried out which evaluated all possible variables, proposing ATLHOS solution.
LIGHTING FOR LARGE SPACES AT GREAT HEIGHTS
ATHLOS is a modular LED floodlight designed to provide excellent lighting for large spaces at great heights. It is characterised by its high impact resistance and great flexibility in light distribution, with 7 different photometries.
It is the perfect solution to illuminate any sports space, ensuring precise and personalised lighting thanks to the adjustable position and inclination fork that it incorporates (up to 270º).
BETTER VISIBILITY, SAFETY AND PLAYING EXPERIENCE
The new lighting system achieves excellent visibility and uniformity through the newly installed 4000K white LED technology, a bright, glare-free light that ensures great visual comfort for players and supporters.
It also achieves high colour rendering fidelity (CRI), a must for Australian Football League matches and training sessions.
KEY OBJECTIVE: WELL-BEING OF PEOPLE
A well-designed sports solution should not only provide for comfortable sport, but also procure appropriate lighting when, where and how it is needed. The proposal developed by Carandini, together with SII Light, our partner in Australia, improved the well-being of spectators, users and players by offering them greater safety, a significant reduction in light dispersion and energy and economic savings.
