The Club de Tennis Saint Julien is located in the heart of Marseille, the main French city of Provence, on the Mediterranean coast. It was created in 1987 as a tennis school and club. Today, it is one of the leading centres for the practice of this sport in Marseille and has its own competitive team.

In 2022, the lighting for its 5 outdoor tennis courts had become obsolete and was consuming a lot of energy, thus increasing the costs of this 20th-century club.

To solve the problem, the club’s management decided to upgrade the old incandescent lighting—which was much more sensitive to power surges and vibrations and not very efficient—to an LED technology solution.

SUSTAINABLE LIGHTING WITH HIGH ENERGY SAVINGS

The product chosen was Carandini’s ATHLOS floodlight, a solution that emits a large amount of light from great heights, with high efficiency and low glare for players and fans. It is robust and can incorporate 1 or 2 modules, offering different luminous fluxes and providing excellent uniformity and visibility.

At the Saint Julien Tennis Club, it was decided to install the two-module ATHLOS floodlight with a colour temperature of 4000K.

INSTANT LIGHT

This new LED lighting solution proposed by our partner Elise and installed by Equip’EPS will enable the sports centre to drastically reduce its energy consumption. In addition, it will avoid the warm-up waiting times of older technologies, providing safety and greater visual comfort during play.

The low maintenance requirements, the long life of the product and the quality of the materials will also reduce the number of interventions and their costs.
