Le Coudray‑Saint‑Germer is a rural commune located in the Hauts‑de‑France region, approximately 230 m above sea level, on the picturesque Plateau de Thelle. The commune is part of the Communauté de communes du Pays de Bray and combines a rich historical heritage with a natural environment characterised by forests and farmland typical of the Pays de Bray.

The origins of this small village date back to the 12th century, when it developed from a former property of the Abbaye de Saint‑Germer‑de‑Fly. Over the centuries, it has preserved its rural character and traditional architecture, most notably the Church of Notre‑Dame.
MORE EFFICIENT LIGHTING RESPECTFUL OF ITS SURROUNDINGS
In 2024, the commune undertook a modernisation of its public lighting, a project led by the Town Hall of Le Coudray‑Saint‑Germer and its mayor, Gilbert Bervoët, in close collaboration with the SE60 syndicate, represented by Yohann Boucaut, the company Eiffage, and our French partner, Citymat. The initiative aimed to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact without compromising the historic character of the commune.
The project involved replacing traditional luminaires with high-performance LED technology. In the historic centre and residential areas, 96 Clamod luminaires were installed, providing uniform, efficient light with a classic design that blends harmoniously with the local architecture. In the most critical points for road safety, such as entrances to the commune and junctions, 35 Urbalite luminaires were installed, allowing precise control of the light beam without any loss of flux, ensuring lighting that is safe, efficient, and respectful of the surroundings.

HIGH-QUALITY, EFFICIENT LIGHTING: OVER 60% ENERGY SAVINGS
Thanks to the use of high-performance LED technology, the project replaced traditional luminaires of more than 100 W with new 36 W units, achieving an estimated energy reduction of approximately 64 %. This significant improvement has optimised the energy efficiency of Le Coudray‑Saint‑Germer’s public lighting while reducing environmental impact, without compromising the quality and uniformity of light in the urban space.
This project demonstrates how collaboration between local authorities, technical syndicates, and lighting experts can transform urban infrastructure, combining efficiency, safety, and the preservation of historical heritage.
